Admissions

Eligibility for admission

The person must have a strong interest in music and musical instruments, a clear goal for studying abroad, and strong motivation to study. The person also must meet the requirements written below.

Age: Over 18 years of age by April 1st, admission year.
Education: completion of 12 years of education at school (relevant to high school) or equivalent to this

Japanese language ability must not obstruct one's study, meeting one of the following requirements A, B, C, D, or E:

  • Holding N1 or N2 of the "Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT)"
  • Scoring over 200 point in the "Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU)"
  • Completing over 6 months of Japanese language education with good record and high attendance, at a Japanese language education facility that is designated by the Minister of Justice in a public notice
  • Scoring over 400 points in BJT Business Japanese Proficiency Test
  • Completing over 1 year of education in the school prescribed in Article 1 of the School Education Act

ESP College of Entertainment will help you to find a Japanese language school. Please refer to the following Scholarship IV section if you are going to apply for conditional admission for ESP College of Entertainment.

Sufficient funds for tuition and living expenses is required.

Types of Admission

AO Admission (Early Admission)

Applicants must meet the minimum requirements for enrollment and you may also have to attend open campus, campus tour or summer program at least once [any of our schools in Japan], and meet the requirements of Japanese language ability: A, B, or D.

Dates to entry for AO admission is: June 1 ~ August 31
*ESP Fukuoka starts July 1 ~ August 31
Application dates and deadlines for AO admission is: September 1 ~ September 30

Regular Admission

Applicants must meet the minimum requirements for enrollment.

Application dates and deadlines for Regular admission is: October 1 ~ March 12, 2021
*Deadlines for Abroad Admission is November 21

Residents outside Japan (with no status of residence in Japan)

  • From September to November Applying to ESP College of Entertainment

    Submitting your documents

  • From October to early December Entrance examination

    This can be done online and the interview by skype.

  • Candidates receive notification by mid December.

    About two weeks after the interview, you will be notified by post when the results are finalized.

  • Enrollment Procedures

    To reserve your place in the class you must reply and submit your tuition and documents required by due dates.

  • Applying for a “Certificate of Eligibility” (COE)

    The International Admissions Office of ESP College of Entertainment will apply to the Immigration Bureau of Japan for the COE on behalf of the student.

  • Tuition Payment (Due in February)

    Once the COE is granted, and tuition payment is received, ESP College of Entertainment sends it to the prospective student, who includes it with his or her visa application to the embassy/consulate.

  • Obtaining a College Student Visa at your local Japanese Embassy or Consulate (In March)

  • Entry into Japan (in March)

    Once you land in Japan, you will be issued a Residence Card (Zairyuu Card) at the Airport or by mail at a later date to the address recorded in your visa application.

  • Entrance Ceremony & Classes Start in early April

    The date and time will be notified to the candidates who completed the entrance procedure.

ESP College of Entertainment accepts admission to academically qualified international students who need to improve their Japanese proficiency.
We have many partnerships with Japanese language schools to help prospective students meet our requirements. Please contact the International Admissions Office of ESP College of Entertainment for further information.

    A lot of famous artists will visit our Academy as guests of in-school events. As well as promotion events, such as the record release anniversary etc.

    You can use four halls, which are a large hall and a small one, and hold the concerts planned by yourself.

  • Live Concert Training in and out of school

    You will take part in the big summer festivals, such as FUJI ROCK FESTIVAL, SUMMER SONIC, as stage staff of concerts, which are held by famous Japanese and foreign artists.

Study Abroad System

As an ESP Gakuen student you can join the short program at Hollywood, CA, U.S.A. in January.
The experiences studying abroad in Hollywood will be a great opportunity to expand your professional experience.

Accommodation

We, ESP College of Entertainment, consider the management, facilities, environment, economic efficiency, convenience of access, etc. We are affiliated with student accommodation services in order to make the students’ family feel safe. Kyoritsu Maintenance, and Tohjin Dormitory which manage student dormitories, and Gakusei Service Plaza which manages student apartments. The Dormitory

Our Academy is affiliated with Kyoritsu Maintenance and TOHJIN DORMITORY which manages student dormitories and Gakusei Service Plaza manages the student apartments. On the days of school information meeting or of trial enrollment, we open the counseling corner there. So please feel free to ask us there.
