Qualifications for Screening (Application Submission)

Our schools are specialized training colleges that have received approval from the Governor of Tokyo to operate as a school corporation. Additionally, we have obtained approval from related organizations such as the Mayor of Shinjuku Ward, Governor of Osaka Prefecture, and Governor of Fukuoka Prefecture to establish campuses in their respective areas. While enrolled in our school, you can receive commuter pass discounts and student discounts.

Diploma

If you meet the above requirements, you will receive the “Diploma” of the MEXT: Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, upon graduation. Senmonshi (専門士, Diploma) is a title given to graduates of a specialized training college (専修学校, Professional Training College) who meet the conditions. Upon graduation, you are eligible for university transfer, as well as those who receive a job offer from a company after graduation. In the case of work-related content, it is reviewed when applying for a change of status to a status of residence related to employment, such as 「技術・人文知識・國際業務: Engineer / Specialist in Humanities / International Services」

To graduate from our school, you must fulfill the following requirements:

  1. Study for a period of more than 2 years.
  2. Complete 1700 hours (62 credits) or more of class hours.
  3. Pass grade evaluations by examination and recognition of graduation based on the evaluation.

To be eligible for screening, you must have a interest in music, musical instruments, or entertainment, and have a clear purpose for studying abroad and a strong will to study. You must satisfy the following three conditions:

1. You must be 18 years of age or older as of the date of admission on April 1, 2024. You must have completed more than 12 years of education. (According to the Ordinance of the Ministry of Education, those who have passed the qualification examination equivalent to high school graduation are also applicable)

2. You must meet one or more of the following ⓐ-ⓔ and be able to take classes in Japanese:
ⓐ Those who have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) N1 or N2
ⓑ Students who have obtained 200 points or more in Japanese subjects of the Examination for Japanese University Admission for International Students (EJU)
ⓒ Those who have received Japanese language education for 6 months or more* with a “Student” residence status at a Japanese language education facility recognized by the Minister of Justice through notification, and have good grades and attendance at Japanese language schools
ⓓ Those who have obtained 400 points or more on the BJT (Business Japanese Proficiency Test)
ⓔ Those who have received more than one year of education at a school stipulated in Article 1 of the School Education Act

3. You must be able to afford study abroad expenses (tuition and living expenses)**

Types of admission

AO: Early action

Selection method to choose individuals who fit the ESP admission policy, which focuses on the applicant’s personality, motivation, and other characteristics:

 ESP Admission Policy: Individuals who have a goal of becoming active in the entertainment industry and possess a strong sense of purpose and passion.

Regular Decision

Admission is based on the applicant’s submission documents, written exam, interview, and Japanese language ability. Knowledge and skill in music are not the sole criteria for admission, so it is not necessary to have specialized knowledge or practical skills related to the major upon admission.

Application periods and test dates

AO: Early action

  • Participation in open campus, school information sessions, or weekday campus tours.
  • Holders of official Japanese language proficiency score such as JLPT N2, N1, EJU or BJT.
  • Online application through AO Entry or handwritten submission of international student admission book on page 17-18. Refer to table 1 for entry periods.

Notification from the admissions office within 2 weeks whether the applicant is eligible for AO admission.

Regular Decision

You don`t need to apply through the AO entry system, you can directly submit your application to the admission office.

Interview: lasts approximates 20 minutes. Successful applicants in the AO admission process may be required to submit assignments or participate in special classes before enrollment, depending on their chosen department or course. Detailed information will be provided along with the examination results notification.

Regular Decision

Written test: a Japanese language test that confirms proficiency at the JLPT N2 level.

Writing: Two themes with a length of about 400 characters per theme.

Interview: lasts approximately 20 minutes. ※ Applicants who possess certified Japanese language proficiency scores are exempt from the written test.

※When applying from overseas, an online entrance exam will be conducted.

Enrollment procedure within the specified period:

Admission from abroad : Need to apply for a COE: the certificate of eligibility

Admission notification

Complete the admission process within the specified period

Common requirements for all type of admissions

・For certificates, you must be issued within 3 months from the date of issuance.

・If submitting a copy instead of the original, it must be copied in A4 size without enlargement or reduction, and the date of the copy, the name in English of the person who made the copy, and their signature must be included.

・If submitting by mail, please refer to page 6 of the 2024 admission book for the mailing address of each campus. ・Before sending by mail, please send a scanned copy of all documents to confirm hat there is no need for additional submission.

Status of residence

If you live in Japan and have a status of residence of “College Student”, you need to extend your period of stay.

↓Those whose residence card expires before April 30th of the enrollment year
Before enrolling, please go to the Immigration Bureau and apply for extend your residence card.

↓Those who have a valid residence card until May 1st of the enrollment year
ICC can apply to extend residence card on your behalf.

※The attendance rate of the Japanese language school after being admitted to ESP College will also must be submitted to the Immigration Bureau. If the attendance rate of the Japanese language school is low, the “extend residence card” after enrollment will be disallowed.

ICC will apply for a “Certificate of Eligibility”.
As soon as the “Certificate of Eligibility” is issued, it will be sent to the applicant via EMS.
Please apply for an entrance visa at the embassy of your country with COE.

If you have a status of residence other than “College Student”, please contact to ICC before applying.
Prior to enrollment, it is necessary to obtain a “college student residence card “.
