ESP GAKUEN International Student

From 2011, when ESP Gakuen started accepting international students, to 2023, 1092 international students from 27 countries and regions have enrolled. International students account for about 9.6% of the students, and you can deepen mutual understanding and friendship through musical cultural exchanges.

The ICC is the contact point between our school and overseas. We provide information, consultation, and support for various procedures related to life in Japan, such as admission procedures, visa status (VISA), student dormitories, and scholarships for international students from all over the world.

School system・Dipoma・Further education after graduation

School system
The specialized course at ESP Gakuen’s vocational school is a two-year system. However, only the ESP Tokyo school’s general guitar production course will be a three-year course. 

Diploma
Our school is a vocational school that has been approved for establishment by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and related administrative agencies of the school location. Upon graduation, the title of “professional” is awarded.

Further education after graduation
Upon graduation, students will be eligible for university transfer, and applicants will be able to receive support for university transfer. 

About trial lesson

Is the class only in Japanese?
Classes will be conducted in Japanese.
Please be assured that on the day of the open campus, staff who can speak English, Chinese, and Korean and international students who are actually enrolled in ESP will participate to give language support.

Do I need to make a reservation?
Please make a reservation in advance. Please note that the reservation destination is different.

Can I participate with my friends?
You can participate alone or with friends.
If you want your friends to take the open campus together, you need to book them separately.

I would like to talk about career after graduate.
After the open campus, the staff of the International Community Center will explain about tuition, scholarships, entrance exams, etc.

About part-time job

Can I have a part-time job in Japan?
International students are required to apply for “Permission to Engage in Activity Other Than That Permitted under the Status of Residence Previously ” to the Immigration Bureau in order to work part-time.
In addition, there are restrictions on the types of jobs and hours that international students are allowed to work part-time, and if they exceed the time limit or have a prohibited part-time job, they will be sentenced to imprisonment, fine, and will be deported from Japan.

Working hours
Within 28 hours a week. However, up to 8 hours a day only during the long school holidays in summer, winter and spring.

Forbidden part-time job
Adult entertainment business etc.
